I began fasting 2 Thursdays ago and entered into my fast in solidarity with the Immokalee Farm Workers, our brothers unjustly detained in Guantanamo Bay, and my spirits will be with those fasting for our families in Yemen being murdered and starved by our country's funded wars.
Today I am breaking my fast. It has been a challenging and exciting journey and there is much that I have yet to unpack and unlearn. I am grateful to return to the world of "food" and take the time to be conscious about my addiction to consumption and my social addiction and conditioning to eating.
I had two moments where I knew I should have gone a bit easier and taken my time and rushed and felt myself black out. I fell on one of those occasions and struggled to maintain my strength and balance on the second.
I have the personality of indomitable will and I would typically force my body to continue fasting because my soul and spirit is still willing to go further and enjoy this state of being. At the same time, I'm going to take the time to listen to my body, and to be mindful and respectful of the personal healing I need. As a good friend once told me, moderate your moderation. I know part of the healing I need is to learn when to listen to life and my body and when to let go, when to say, you've done your best, you've done great, and the journey is not over! I have to unlearn that even extreme perseverance is harmful and detrimental to the mind and body. It is part of the capitalist mentality that we are not of any value if we do not produce produce produce. I will give in, and submit to my heart and partly saddened but also with excitement and joy, I will humbly break my fast :)
The journey will continue into easing back into an electric alkaline lifestyle with a mucus reduced diet. This journey is a reminder that we always can do better. The same way I strove to just have the best products in my body, all the minerals I need, the best spring water I could find, I will also continue to dedicate my life to slowly incorporate better and healthier food, communities, and ideas into my world.
It's been such a blessing to reflect on my body being able to function on just water and minerals for the past couple of weeks. My body feels lighter! Clearer and cleaner! And I've still up till today still been using the bathroom. I'm going to walk with a deeper consciousness of my temple, and what I allow into it and out of it.
I might break fast with a little bit of alkaline pho broth. Just something soft to sip on and slowly gain more denser liquids in my body.

I'll conclude my fast with the 3 principles of URUA:
1. You are number 1! So who can teach you anything? No one! Who is better than you? No one! And you are not better than anyone else. All you have to worry about is the vibration that you put out into the world.
2. Offer yourself nothing that hurts.
3. Offend no one or anything.
Peace and Blessings Family!
